She was jilted by hunky ex copper Jack Branning and with nowhere to go, and her floppy haired son to look after, perhaps it was only natural that Sharon Watts ran into Phil Mitchell's thuggish arms.
Never afraid to turn their viewers' stomachs, EastEnders bosses have decided that the pair actually do belong together and they finally get close in the club on April 23.
Although Sharon, played by Letitia Dean, is understandably hesitant, former junkie Phil, played by Steve McFadden, persuades her to move into his oddly decorated house.

And after much wearing her down with gifts and grim smiles it seems blonde Sharon is finally persuaded to begin a full blown relationship with the grubby mechanic and goes public in the square weeks later.
Their coupling is the latest odd romance in Walford with Ian Beale cosying up to Denise Fox, played by Adam Woodyatt and Diane Parish, and Kat Moon's wild affair with overweight gangster Derek Branning, played by Jessie Wallace and Jamie Foreman.
Although in a typical grim storyline their relationship proves hard going as Sharon's painkiller addiction rears its ugly head and Lola Pearce stumbles across pills in Phil's oddly decorated home.
