At least she's honest! The photograph Miss Britton posted to her Twitter followers
Being a TV personality, she is rarely seen without lashings of mascara, lip gloss, fake tan, and hair spray.
So when Fern Britton shared this picture of herself after an exhausting workout, her fans could be forgiven for failing to recognise her at all.
The presenter hit the gym to maintain the svelte figure she developed on Strictly Come Dancing last year – but was left looking exhausted, bedraggled and dripping with sweat.
Miss Britton shared the picture with her 10,109 Twitter followers after wearing herself out in the gym on an exercise bike.
Earlier in the day, she had posted a picture of herself looking composed as she prepared to begin the exhausting workout, known as spinning.
Even without makeup, however, the mother-of four looked remarkably fresh faced and unlined.
The 55-year-old has fought a very public battle with her weight over the years, and had a gastric band fitted in 2006.
She came under fire for keeping the procedure secret at the time and claiming her weight loss was due to eating less and exercising more.
Last year, she shed even more weight thanks her gruelling dance rehearsals as a contestant on BBC1 competition Strictly.
However, she revealed her husband, TV chef Phil Vickery, 51, objected to the smell of the fake tan she used on the show.

Full-on glamour: On Strictly she presented a more polished side
She said: 'The biggest row my husband Phil and I had was when I first put fake tan on. Being a chef he is very sensitive to smells and he can’t stand it.
'We didn’t speak for four days. I have convinced him it’s an essential part of the Strictly experience and he will be sleeping in the spare room on spray-tan days.’
Miss Britton has a daughter Winnie, 11, with Vickery, who is her second husband.
She also has 19-year-old twins, Jack and Harry, and a 16-year-old daughter Grace, from her first marriage to TV executive Clive Jones.
Speaking about her weight loss struggle in 2011, Miss Britton said: 'My cholesterol was high. My knee joints were starting to hurt.
'I wasn’t able to run. I was approaching 50 and I thought: “Do you know what I’m going to be different when I’m 50.”
'I was cycling like mad and nothing was happening. My GP said I was a good candidate for a band, so I went ahead. I needed to get healthy. I wasn’t unhappy the way I was; I was unhealthy.’
She added: 'Maybe eating was a self-comfort. Up to my 50s, I’d had people to please. Then you get to the stage where you go, “Actually, I don’t need to please any of you any more. I’m not breast-feeding. I’m not pregnant. My body’s my own and I’ve only got myself to concentrate on, so I’m going to do that.” It was wonderful. '
Since her gastric band was fitted, Miss Britton has continued to lose weight through tough weekly bike rides and a strict diet.
