Pippa opening sexy underwear, Carole enjoying a sneaky ciggie and mum-to-be tucking into turkey: Christmas at the Middletons' home… or is it
23:07 GMT, 22 December 2012
It's the Middletons as you’ve never seen them before – letting their hair down behind the closed doors of their Berkshire home as they celebrate the last Christmas before the birth of a Royal baby.
And there’s special cause for a party this year as the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are spending the festive season with her parents, having decided that a formal Christmas at Sandringham might be too much for Kate, given her severe morning sickness.
Unlike the more sedate Royals, the Middletons like to have fun at Christmas with fancy dress, cheeky presents, party games and practical jokes.
Turkey crown: Wills and Kate tuck in… but Pippa knows that you need to count the calories when you're most famous for your derriere
From Helmand with love: Now which secret admirer does Pippa have at Camp Bastion who might send her such a sexy gift
The roaming arm of the law: A Royal protection officer gets flirtatious with Carole as she sneaks off for a cigarette break
Going for a spin: Michael Middleton takes William for a swift pint at the local – and a flutter on the fruit machine
Party queen Pippa recently revealed that father Michael turned up for the celebrations a couple of years ago in an inflatable sumo wrestler outfit.
‘It’s endearing, really, and only quite embarrassing,’ she wrote in The Spectator.
What high-jinks will the family get up to this year
In this series of images, Bafta-winning photographer Alison Jackson – renowned for her use of brilliantly realistic lookalikes – imagines the Middletons’ uproarious family Christmas.
Perhaps Kate will rise before dawn to help her mother put the turkey in the oven, her illness permitting, of course.
Double take: Someone seems to think Kate's severe morning sickness is a sign of Royal twins to come… while Wills's cocker spaniel Lupo is already feeling neglected
Getting her hands dirty: Will stuffing the turkey prove too much for delicate Kate
Fizz Royal Highness: Do they need a stiff drink to watch Granny's speech
Is that a reign-deer Kate and Wills wear their festive jumpers
And maybe William will relish a chance to nip out for last orders – and to escape ‘the girls’ – with father-in-law Michael.
How many times will mum Carole duck out for a quick ciggie How long will Pippa spend in front of the mirror, admiring her paper crown
And just how many champagne bottles will Michael put out with the recycling
That's a wrap: But Pippa ought to remove the cut-price stickers before giving unsold copies of her book, Celebrate, as presents
Lady in red: Carole dances on the table to a captive audience
In high spirits: Carole has a swig while her husband and a protection officer soak up the atmosphere
Whatever happens, this Christmas will be the end of an era for the Middletons, as Carole and Michael are soon to move into a 5million mansion near their current home.
And with parental duties looming for William and Kate – whether a boy or a girl, the baby will be the heir to the heir to the heir to the Throne – this could be a last chance for them to relax and enjoy a relatively carefree Christmas.
