Mourning: Amanda Wood was burgled after her brother Matthew, pictured, was killed by a helicopter
The sister of a pedestrian killed when a helicopter crashed on top of him in central London has been burgled while mourning his death with relatives.
Amanda Wood returned home on Thursday – the day after her brother Matthew Wood, 39, was killed in Vauxhall – to find her house ransacked.
Mr Wood, from Sutton, south London, had been walking to work at Rentokil on Wednesday morning when he was hit by debris.
Miss Wood was at her brother Darren's house ‘so the family could all be in one place to give each other support' when her home was targeted.
She told the BBC: 'It's horrible. It has been the worst week of my life. It's absolutely gutting.'
Miss Wood said she told about the break-in when a neighbour phone and said they were round her house in Carshalton, Surrey, with the police.
No arrests have been made, but Ms Wood added: 'They'd kicked in the bottom panel of the back door. The drawers were pulled out and bits of jewellery were gone.'
Miss Wood has described her brother as a 'big guy with a big heart' following his death last week.
She said: 'He didn't have a bad word to say about anyone. He was always at the end of the phone if you needed him.
'He said he would be proud to walk me down the aisle when I eventually get married. He said he would be happy to have that privilege.'
